The motown shaker gang headed north to Martin michigan (US 131). I have to send thanks to Troy Martin for making great tuning calls and the crew help from Mike Minick, Dave Vallo, Sonny Nemitz, Jared and Tim Wurtzel and Julia Porter for awsome job selling t-shirts.
We arrived all ready to go. All we had to do is warm her up and go to the lanes. The weather was very optimal and we left the same 6.09 tune up in it. It was our turn around 7:00 pm to head to the lanes. I was matched up with Justin Grant's Wonder Bread Car. We both did great side by side burn outs and got back to the tree. My guys send me into the lights and we are ready to rock. I was putting my visor down as the lights went green so Joe got the light. But the car was pulling like no other. Here comes the finish line and out with the chutes I go. Oh boy she not going to get stopped in time. I point her straight and into the kitty litter we go. Luckly nothing was hurt to bad. My crew comes fling down and seeing I was ok. They start yelling you did it you did it you went 5.99 at 247 mph. We were the first nostalgia car in the midwest into the 5's. Man this is an awsome feeling.
We get back to the pits and find out we hurt one piston. So off with the head and we slip a new one in. We get her all back together and we are ready to rock. IT was close to 10 when we head back to the lanes. The dew is setting in pretty good. The car launches hard and is pulling pretty good. My visor starts fogging up so I click it off. We pass through the traps at 6.20 at 190 mph.
All in all it was an awsome weekend. Thanks Jason for having us at your track.
