Kyle Wurtzel, 27, has been involved in racing for over seven years. He spent his first two years helping Troy Martin run an outlaw streetcar. His duties were wide ranged from motor work to general service between rounds. He then aided Troy with the Chi-town hustler while he was also building and running his own outlaw streetcar. Kyle's duties with the chi-town again were wide ranged and they varied.
In 2005, Kyle decided he wanted to jump into the nostalgia funny car scene. In 2006, he campaigned a fuel altered to get used to the drastic change between cars. In 2007, with Troy’s assistance, Kyle put together the 1966 Mustang body, Nitro Pony. Kyle’s has become one of the fastest and most dependable Nitro Funny cars in the Midwest, running a total of twelve events and being the fastest car at three of those.
This winter will bring change for Kyle once again. He and Troy Martin will begin building an IHRA nitro funny car as well as restoring the Motown Shaker. Driving in the professionals’ rank for events will allow Kyle to achieve one of his life goals. In 2008, Kyle will maintain a presence on the nostalgia racing level. He plans on running the Motown Shaker at twelve events with seven already scheduled. |
